Our Story

Tannouri Our Story shortened: In 1978, Charbel Tannouri discovered his passion for Prosthetics and Orthotics during an internship at Beit Chabab Hospital Center. After training in Basel, he became Head of Prosthetics and Orthotics Services. In 1987, he founded Charbel Tannouri Orthopedic Center, starting a journey to enhance lives.

In 1996, Charbel specialized in Company Management and earned expertise in Electronic Prosthetic Knee C-leg from Ottobock in 1997. He co-founded the Prosthetics and Orthotics Syndicate in Lebanon and led until 2008. His dedication led to the creation of The Lebfoot®.

In 2011, Pierre Tannouri joined the family legacy, completing Prosthetics and Orthotics studies in Paris. After working at Proteor, he returned to Lebanon in 2021, establishing Tannouri Orthopedics with a mission to impact mobility difficulties.

Collaborating with a dedicated team, Tannouri Orthopedics works with NGOs, insurance companies, and the Lebanese Army. They excel in Prosthetics, Orthotics, Physiotherapy, and Rehabilitation, prioritizing patient well-being with a holistic approach. Limb Loss Prevention: We are committed to raising awareness and implementing preventive measures to reduce the occurrence of limb loss.

Companionship in Recovery: We stand alongside amputees throughout their entire journey, offering unwavering support and guidance during pre- and post-amputation stages.

Milestones

Our History Speaks of our Refined Work

  1. Discovered the prosthetics and orthotic field during an internship in Beit chabab’s Hospital with the C.R.S ( Croix rouge Suisse).

  2. Took part in a three years training program in Prosthetics and orthotics in Basel, Switzerland.

  3. Became Head of Prosthetics and Orhtotics services in Beit Chabab’s hospital.

  4. Opened the first private Ortho-prosthetic center in Antelias,Lebanon.

  5. Relocated to Zalka, Lebanon and transformed the clinic to a rehabilitation center.

  6. Specialized in Myo-Electric prosthetics for upper limbs.

  7. Specialized in Electronic prosthetic knee CLEG from Ottobock in Switzerland.

  8. Specialized in Company management in Cyprus with the W.R.F (World Rehabilitation fund, followed by the creation of the Prosthetics and Orthotics Syndicate in Lebanon with Lebanese colleagues.

  9. Got the Head of the Lebanese P&O Syndicate title.

  10. Charbel Tannouri produced and designed the first prosthetic foot ever made in Lebanon, after 3 years of testing in Lebanon and Switzerland, which was named Leb-foot. The tests qualified the foot as a 1 to 4 Activity level component after 200 Thousand continual steps.

  11. Charbel’s son, Pierre Tannouri was highly interested in the field and thus began his journey. He first did an internship in Prosthetics in Charbel Tannouri orthopedic center in Zalka.

  12. Earned a diploma in P&O in Alembert University in Paris, France.

  13. Conducted a Humanitarian mission in Morocco with the Office national des anciens combattants et des victimes de guerres (ONACVG).

  14. Worked at Proteor Paris and specialized in Spine deformities (Pediatric and Adult Scoliosis and Kyphosis), Trauma injuries and postoperative surgery recovery, Orthotics for Spinal Cord injuries.

  15. Became a member of the International Society of Prothetics and Orthotics.

  16. Decided that it's time to come back to Lebanon and use his expertise to help ones in need, after the 4th of August explosion.
